      is digital I/O of a mainboard, using only 1.8V? which will make a problem using some of the Arduino sensors? also, is it the same with SPI pins? which will make it not possible to use all of that without an Extention board?

        Hi @tornedoar

        yes, on the main board header the GPIO voltage is 1.8 and it i so for the SPI too.
        But this is not always a problem. Many components have a low digital voltage threshold for when a 0 becomes a logical 1.
        For example the 3,3V ILI9341 display can work on 1,8V logical voltage since the threshold is below 1,8V (actually 0.7 x VDDI and VDDI ranges from 1.65 to 3.3V). So double check your datasheets of your components, it might still work just fine connecting them to 1.8V SPI data bus. You still have a 3.3V voltage supply on the Main board header if you need.

          it is made for Arduino so it uses 5V.
          can you please give me advice on how to deal with that problem without using an amplifier?

              But this can-busshieldv2.0.pdf has the same form factor as the extension board, wouldn't it be easier for you to just use the extension board then?

              I took a quick look at https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12009 and it seems to have the same type of levelshifter that is being used on the extension board.

                  Ok, I understand.
                  I don't know if it is of any help but the schematics for the extension board is open and free to download. So if you prototype with the extension board you should be able to copy the parts of the design that suits your needs. It could save time doing so (and money) for your company.

                  Just a comment, you can ignore this if it is not feasible for you.
