Hi,
I would like to understand the risks associated with the opening of the bootloader, and with the modification of the firmware of an Android device.

For the development, I will use a device Sony Xperia XZ2, in case the answer is dependant on the device.

Once the bootloader is unlocked, as long as I understand, some propietary binaries are erased from the device, in example, the binaries responsibles for the image improvement.
Can I use after I have unlocked the bootloader the Sony Flash tool (or the Xperia Companion) to restore the stock firmware bringing back that deleted propietary binaries?

Also, as long as I understand, the critical partitions (the ones that allows to boot) are still protected after executing "fastboot oem unlock" command. Do that means that even if I flash a faulty system or kernel partition, the device will be recoverable using Sony Flash tool, or the Xperia Companion?

The bootloader unlock procedure will invalidate some extended functionality (not used by the open software) and will wipe your user data.
You can always use the FlashTool to update the firmware or return to stock SW.
